Told you so...really

Jon Jones vs Anderson Silva.

The superfight.  I can't remember anything close to this other than Ken Shamrock vs Royce Gracie.
And I'm just happy it just might happen.  Just see this post from MMAFighting, one of the sites I regularly visit to get daily updates.

Let's just hope we see this probably next year :)

Make this happen Dana :)

Told you so

On March 20, 2011 I wrote here that Jon Jones should fight Anderson Silva, or at least that's the one fight that makes sense (as opposed to GSP vs Silva).  And after taking the belt from Rua in a dominant and destructive fashion, defending it against Rampage and then recently putting to sleep Machida, Jones vs Silva is the best match-up!
Unfortunately this might not yet happen cause business wise, Dana probably won't risk putting out the flame of Jones yet.  Plus there is still not enough market demand to see these two fights, and demands sell tickets.
Maybe 2 years from now or even earlier, if we see these two destroy every opponent then it would be inevitable that they face each other to settle the best pound for pound MMA fighter.

Jon Jones vs Anderson Silva

Yep, after he defeated Vera I thought this guy (Jones) is outstanding and the only real opponent that he should face is Anderson Silva.  And now that he has devasted Rua and is the LW champion then there really is a market for this.
Anderson Silva didn't want to stay at 205 because back then Machida was the LW champion a.k.a. his friend (or best friend).  Now that Machida is no longer king of LW then the more reason Silva should go back at 205 and make the fight of the century.
I know people are looking at GSP vs Silva but I think Silva will just dominate St. Pierre.  Even if St. Pierre can put Silva down, I don't think GSP can knock out Silva (Sonnen tried for more than 4 rounds and was unable to even put Silva in danger).
So to me personally, I would rather see Jon Jones vs Anderson Silva.
They're almost equally matched in most aspects:
Height
Skillset
Unpredictability
Age
Charisma

I hope this is the fight that would happen instead of GSP.

UFC 122 - Marquardt vs Okami

This is a match-up for the next title shot at the middleweight division currently held by Anderson Silva. Whoever wins is the next challenger to the winner of next years Silva vs Belfort.
A lot of people don't think this event is not worth watching simply because these two guys are not exactly household names but if you look at the current middleweight division in the UFC, there are no other prospects qualified for a title shot. Sonnen should have gotten the 2nd title fight but won't be able to because of post-fight test related issues.
Marquardt already learned his lessons from the past and has clawed his way back into contention since the last defeat at the hands of Sonnen. Okami has also been performing well and supposedly the last man to beat Anderson Silva (via an illegal up-kick by Silva).
If Marquardt wants to be champion, he has to at least put his wrestling skills at the same level as Sonnen's and be quick to dart in and back out just like Frankie Edgar. I think those two skills should be the least requirement to have a chance at beating Silva.
Okami has improved in his wrestling too as we have seen with his fight against Mark Muñoz who is a great wrestler and a training partner of Silva.
This will be a close fight and could go to either Marquardt or Okami. I think whoever wins is definitely deserving to fight for the title, we just have to wait and see if Silva remains the king pin of middleweight or if a new king named Belfort will be waiting for the winner of this match.

Pacquiao vs Margarito

This is obviously not the best match-up as far as boxing fans go. But since Mayweather vs Pacquiao failed a lot of times and still doesn't look possible, this is supposedly the next best thing that boxing can offer.
Pacquiao and Margarito I think have different objectives and goals in this fight. For Pacquiao it's getting the 8th title, effectively surpassing his 7 championship on 7 different weight divisions. That's a huge feat and probably will stay long before any other boxer can accomplish the same.
For Margarito, it's mostly clearing up his name and reputation; or maybe it's about financial since practically no one wants to promote him due to some past issues.
Would this be a good fight? I think it is, unless Margarito becomes another Clottey. The other factor that should make this an exciting fight is because of the styles of both fighters, they like to bang it out which most (if not all) fans really love as opposed to the clinical style of Mayweather in moving around the ring too much to avoid getting damage and effectively makes it a boring fight to watch. But this proves another thing, we know now who really wants to fight and who keeps avoiding fight between Pacquaio and Mayweather.

Brothers listen

Just when you thought that site feedback and "contact us" sections are just there to make it look like any other site you'd be surprised that the owners actually take time to look into them and more importantly really send response to consumers. Well, that I can say based on experience.
Remember my last blog about how disappointing experience it was at Brothers Burger Makati branch? Yep, I didn't just write it on my blog, I actually wrote them and told them about it.
They have a great site as far as design is concerned and then I thought about writing to their feedback form.
I honestly didn't think I'd get a response from them but nevertheless I just wrote to them about my experience. At that time I would be content if they could just read it and use that to make the necessary decisions.
But they did more, one of the owners (I'm not gonna mention names here) actually sent me an email in response to my feedback.
The response was very professional and they took the feedback constructively which was great coming from a company the produces great products. Anyway, it was a nice email with them but I haven't been to their Makati branch to see if they improved (or at least live up to how Brothers burgers are supposed to be) but I sure hope they do.
So credits to the management of Brothers for taking time to listen and respond to consumer feedback.

Disappointing Brothers Burger Makati

Brothers Burger has been the best burger I have tasted.  That was when I was in Alabang and had a chance to dine at their Westgate branch.  The burger patty was tender and actually had juice when you bite on it.  The vegetables were fresh and the bread was soft.
I was actually referring Brothers burger to my friends and other people when it comes to great tasting burger.

And then this year I tried Brothers burger in Ayala Makati and expecting the same quality and experience I had in their Alabang branch.
So my colleagues and I finally ordered the half-pounder and waited.
When I got called, I went up and get my order.

First impression was not good.
The burger looked as if it was compressed.  The patty looked dried and overcooked.
The vegetable actually had brown edges which meant they're not fresh.
When I held it, disappointment again as it was not warm.  It's as if it was already prepared yesterday and nobody ordered so they sold it that day.

Taking a bite out of it, another big disappointment.
It looked dry enough but it tasted worse.  It wasn't juicy.  The bread was like one day old in an open space (like when you buy bread in a bakery and leave it for a day).
The patty tastes like a burger made by someone who doesnt know how to cook.
No one in our group liked anything we ate.

It's so disappointing that burgers of McDonalds and Jollibee would actually taste better than what they served us.

But this doesn't mean I won't eat a Brothers burger again.  Nope, not likely.
I'd still have one on their Alabang branch but never again in Makati.

I hope the owners of Brothers are checking their branches every month (at least) and make sure they deliver the same quality as they intended.
